Logan watched the sleeping Rory as Colin and Robert were busy bickering and did not notice his momentary lack of concentration on the game at hand. He thought she looked beautiful, even asleep. He like having her there, even if it was just to sit by his side and later fall asleep on his couch.
“Your up.” Colin said nudging his arm. “Or are you going to fold?”
“Give up.” Robert commanded, “And pay up.”
“I’m in.” Logan said quickly, his attention immediately snapping from the sleeping Rory to his friends. “I can’t lose tonight. Luck is on my side.”
Rory practically ran back her room from Logan’s; she was so worried about her mom she could think of little else. Feeling almost guilty she realized that the only other thing that she could think about was the look of concern that Logan had given, as he demanded that she take his car to Stars Hollow. She loved that he was concerned for her, and she knew he was–she could see it in his eyes.
Rory walked slowly back to her room, slightly dazed and a little lightheaded. He had wanted to see her. He wanted to see her again on Saturday. He kissed her. Twice. She knew that this was supposed to be no strings attached, something simple and easy, but it was hard not to be eager about seeing him again. Once again the guilt over being giddy with Logan while her Mom was miserable and hurting washed over her. She could not believe that her mother and Luke were having issues. But since Rory was so convinced that things were going to work out–for both her and her mother she decided that it was best if she let fate play its course. She was a firm believer that things would work out for the best for both Gilmore Girls.
